Kor Gable was born in Hungary, grew up in Australia, and came of age in Canada where he now resides. His primary interests were music and film. He started making 8mm home movies at age 11 and dreamed of becoming a Hollywood film maker. At age 16, his second passion, music, kicked into high gear and he dreamed of fame and fortune as a rock star.
But he was in the thick of the tumultuous 60s, filled with wars, protests, sex, drugs, and rock & roll. Along with pursuing music, he also started a spiritual quest for the meaning and purpose of life.
For over a decade, Kor studied everything – from comparative religions to psychology; from science to mysticism. He eventually found his answers in shamanism at a point when he was ready to give up on everything. While making a last-ditch effort to break into the music industry, he was serendipitously guided into a study of Hawaiian Shamanism (Huna), which changed his life.
In 1980, he started teaching various aspects of it in the form of a self-improvement seminar – among other things, his course answered questions about the soul, mind and spirit; trained everyone in a highly effective form of shamanic meditation, taught healing and manifesting techniques, and a modern urban way of Vision Questing.
Over the years, many of his students urged him to write a book about all this. And as fate would have it, at the turn of the millennium, he took a Sabbatical and started writing. The book took more than eight years to comp-lete, and another two to edit – the one-year sabbatical turned into a decade... But the book is finally here!
As John Lennon of the late great Beatles once said: “Life happens while you are busy making other plans...”
